Marissa Dewey-Ramos
CHW / Enrollment Navigator
Marissa brings more than a decade of frontline behavioral health, housing, and community support experience to Hamot Health Foundation’s street outreach team. Since 2014, she has worked across residential, rehabilitation, and transitional housing settings, supporting individuals facing homelessness, mental illness, substance use disorder, and systemic barriers to stability.
Most recently, Marissa served as Program Manager for Fairweather Lodge at Stairway’s Behavioral Health, where she oversaw three transitional housing programs for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. In this role, she implemented recovery-oriented interventions, coordinated interdisciplinary care, managed crisis response, and ensured compliance with housing and clinical standards. Previously, she worked as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Technician, helping individuals develop life skills, manage symptoms, and pursue recovery goals.
Through this work, Marissa developed a deep understanding of how trauma, diagnosis, and limited support systems can become barriers to health and opportunity. She has witnessed firsthand how individuals fall through gaps in fragmented systems—and how consistent, compassionate guidance can change life trajectories.
As a Community Health Worker, Marissa brings exceptional strengths in care coordination, system navigation, and trust-building. As a person of color and a fluent American Sign Language (ASL) communicator, she connects effectively with diverse populations and individuals who are often underserved or overlooked. Her long-standing relationships with social service agencies, case managers, and community partners strengthen the outreach team’s ability to respond quickly and comprehensively.
Marissa is deeply committed to service beyond her professional role. She volunteers regularly at the City Mission, participates in ASL community groups, and engages in local fellowship initiatives.
Known for her energy, dedication, and advocacy, Marissa embraces HHF’s outreach model as an opportunity to serve without limitation. As she notes, the program empowers her to meet people where they are and respond fully to their needs. Her experience, compassion, and credibility make her an essential member of HHF’s nurse-led street outreach team.
